French Farmhouse Pitcher

Forget Shabby Chic, the lovely hydrangea pattern and the blue and white tones of this elegant French Farmhouse Collection pitcher are stunning.

Each piece is wheel thrown with porcelain clay, then refined through trimming/sanding, and the application of an underglaze transfer (from Elan Transfers). After firing, the piece is cleaned, and clear glaze is applied over the hydrangea blossoms. When the clear glaze has dried, wax is used to cover and protect the design while the rest of the piece is glazed.

The photographs for this listing are an example, not the exact piece you will receive. Because each piece is handmade, there may be slight variations in size and shape, the placement of the pattern, depth, and color ranges of the glaze. Rather than considering these to be imperfections, I believe they are part of what makes each piece uniquely beautiful.

This piece is lead free and food safe. It can be microwaved and washed in the dishwasher. However, as with any special and delicate item, not exposing it to hot/cold extremes, and hand-washing is the kinder option.
